Since its inception in 2003, Smart Brain International has been a family owned and operated educational institute. Since that time Smart Brain International has transformed from a single service company to an institute offering over a dozen different programs benefiting children and the adult market as well. The executive team talent pool combined holds degrees in Marketing, Management, Economics, and Quantitative Techniques. However, they have been involved in educating children and adults since the mid 90’s. And, now have used all these experiences to build Smart Brain International Franchise Corp.

Surendra Gupta is currently the CEO/Pres. & Founder of Smart Brain International Franchise Corp. He has a successful history in operating businesses ranging from: Photography, Financial Services, & Non-Emergency Transportation. However, one of his more memorable jobs was in his younger days when he worked in a fast food restaurant as a “fry boy”. He adds, “… of course, I did much more than just fries! At one point, they even let me flip burgers”. Surendra’s experiences truly run the gamut, furthered by his self-nurturing skills in sales, contract negotiation, and team building.
Brahashitha Gupta, one of the founders of the originally formulated company, helped shape the company and its systems as the former Executive Director & Co-Founder of the original concept. At Smart Brain International, she serves in the critical role of “Program Development and Master Trainer – Abacus” program. Additionally, Brahashitha’s art of scheduling allows the training of center managers and franchise centers running at peak efficiency. How did she accomplish this task? Brahashitha adds, “… comes from the business training my dad gave me. My father is a pretty successful business man in India and he believed exposing me to the business world early on would be the best thing for me. I think I started with him when I was about 12 years old. Best training I ever had” Brahashitha’s experience range from: Office Manager, Real Estate development (with her father), Accounts, and Logistics in Manufacturing.
Smart Brain International dates its roots in the company back to 2003. At the time, the sole product / service was their copywritten and proprietary Abacus Arithmetic and Right Brain Development Program. An extraordinarily powerful and useful program by itself with far reaching benefits for both children and adults alike. Although in 2005, Smart Brain franchise system had been launched, by 2007 a more careful analysis revealed a shift in the educational industry as a whole, their competitors, and what the future of after-school education looks like. With this in mind the entire Smart Brain program underwent an intense reformulation of its educational and business model of the company. By 2008, Smart Brain International Abacus system was not only reformulated, but the company expanded into a multi-faceted after-school educational company. The first of our many educational services is Abacus Arithmetic and Right Brain Development for children. Their Smart Brain abacus system is the only abacus program to use a one handed operation in manipulating the beads. This is important as this method promotes greater right brain development and better left and right brain synergy.
We use the Taiwanese methodology in conjunction with basic abacus principles to start. Smart Brain International then put together the only proprietary and copywritten system in business today.
The Abacus has been in use for thousands of years in many different cultures. As expected, the Abacus has seen a variety of iterations since its inception in Greece all the way down to the Orient. During these times, these same cultures have continued to use this instrument as a general means for mathematical calculation. However, in recent times, the Abacus has been discovered as a profound educational tool and one that is unlike any other in its simplicity, ease of use, portability, and effectiveness.
Over the years we have progressed our syllabus into several revised generations of Abacus usage and continue to be on the forefront in this industry thereby lending to the Smart Brain program’s shape, structure, quality, and tracking that our students and parents have come to rely on.
